Sacramento Regional Gathering

May 18, 2016 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Valley Vision is hosting the Sacramento Valley Region Farm to School Gathering on May 18, 2016! The Sacramento Valley region of the California Farm to School Network includes beginning and experienced farm to school practitioners and advocates in Sacramento, Solano, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba Counties, but folks from all counties are welcome!

Keynote speaker Nicole Sturzenberger from the California Office of Farm-to-Fork will talk about their role in supporting farm to school programs and how practitioners can engage with the state. Then we will hear a series of “lightning talks” by experts on key issues including education, school gardens, career pathways, bidding for local procurement and working directly with farmers, and how our region can connect farm to school to the ‘America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital’ platform.

We will end with a networking mixer (happy hour!) featuring local beer and wine!

Big thanks to Soil Born Farms for allowing us to use their amazing space.

RSVP here!
