This peer-led workshop is open to anyone involved with a San Diego Unified garden and is designed to help facilitate connection and collaboration. Fellow parents, teachers and garden coordinators will share on the following three topics: resources and funding, cooking in the garden and garden curriculum. The gathering will be held from 8:30 to 11:00 am on May 11th at 6735 Gifford Way in Room 1. Two years ago, San Pasqual Union K-8 School in Escondido launched the S.A.G.E. (Students Are Growing Everyday) School Garden with the intention of teaching nearly 600 students about sustainable farming and healthy eating habits. Vegetables from the garden are added to the school’s salad bar on a weekly basis. Join the school for Harvest Day on September 29th to pick pumpkins with the whole family.
