Are you interested in walking the fields, picking fresh produce, tasting fresh produce and maybe even releasing a ladybug or two?? Then this program is for you! Center for Food & Justice (CFJ) and South Coast Farms have developed an on-farm agriculture and nutrition education program. The program is hosted on the farm in San Juan Capistrano, just seconds from the historic mission! CFJ is offering this on-farm tour and education opportunity to schools with established Orange County farm to school programs free of charge. It is a supplemental on-farm activity designed to support the CSA in the Classroom program offered through the Orange County Menu of options (see program link below this one). South Coast Farms is also offering special tours to interested school groups not participating in the Orange County farm to school program! To learn more about the Growing Healthy Sprouts program, see the linked program brochure. Children will learn a variety of environmental, nutrition and agricultural based lessons. The program is being offered year-round and classes are held every week. If you are interested in participating in this program please contact Sarah Frugard directly at the contact information provided.
